Cynthia Hemmer
Director of Operations

Responsibilities: Operational standards, franchisee support, and field staff supervision

Favorite SUBWAY® Sandwich: Veggie Patty with shredded Monterey Cheddar on Flatbread, toasted, with spinach, tomatoes, onions, banana peppers, jalapenos, Chipotle Southwest sauce, and Sweet Onion sauce.

Cynthia Hemmer joined the Dixon/Turi team in 2005. She attended Roger Williams University where she studied Computer Information Systems. Her affinity for technology has earned her the nickname "Techie Diva" among her co-workers. After spending four years as Office Manager, in 2009 she transitioned to our Development department where she assisted with site development and leasing. In 2014, she was promoted to Director of Operations overseeing our team of Field Consultants and providing operational support to restaurants throughout the territory. She is a graduate of franchisee training school in Milford, CT. Cynthia resides in Rhode Island with her husband, daughters, and two cats, Amadeus and Captain Paw.

Ed Passarelli
Accountant

Responsibilities: Financial advisor to Development Agents

Ed Passarelli is semi-retired and has performed accounting and financial services on a part-time basis for SUBWAY® Development since 2002. Prior to his retirement he spent most of his career in Television and Radio Broadcast Accounting. He was Business Manager of WPRI-TV, Providence, and later Vice President of Finance of Knight-Ridder Broadcasting, the parent company of eight television stations throughout the United States. Ed was also co-owner of Creative Communications Associates, a company that produced the "London Week-End News" and "Crime Stoppers 800", a national syndicated television show. Ed has five children and thirteen grandchildren.

Laurie Turi
Certified Territory Trainer

Favorite SUBWAY® Sandwich: Egg omelet with Provolone cheese on Italian, untoasted, with spinach, tomatoes, and ranch dressing

Laurie Turi was born in Hartford, CT, raised in the suburbs of Buffalo, NY and settled in Rhode Island in 1983. She bought her first SUBWAY® restaurant in Cranston, RI in 1988. By June 1989, she was a multi-unit owner. In August of 2009, she joined our team as the Director of Operations. Today, she spends her time overseeing her 20 personal restaurants and is our Certified Territory trainer providing operational training to restaurant managers throughout the year. Laurie has four daughters and nine grandchildren who she enjoys immensely.

Andrea Byrne

Andrea joined our team in 2014 as a Field Consultant. She was born and raised in St. Louis, MO where she began her career in the food service industry over 25 years ago. In her 18 years of restaurant management experience in a fast casual franchise, Andrea has been a champion of company standards and systems resulting in highly profitable operations. Andrea moved to Westerly, RI in 2001 where she currently lives with her artist husband and teenage daughter who loves to play soccer. She enjoys long walks on the beach with her family.

Debbie Brusseau

Debbie Brusseau joined our development team in 2014. She has dedicated her life to the SUBWAY® brand working as a store manager for over 28 years. Debbie has extensive knowledge of our systems and standards and works with our owners throughout New London County helping to build sales. Debbie lives in Connecticut with her husband and they enjoy camping in their spare time.

Justin Knight
Business Consultant

Justin Knight joined our development office in 2015. Justin's family owns three SUBWAY(r) restaurants in Massachusetts, one of which he worked at for 10 years-2 years as a Sandwich Artist and 8 years as the Manager handling all day-today operations. Justin attended the Universal Technical Institute for mechanics, where he acquired over 30 different Ford Certifications, and was named a Leader in Safety four times. He traveled North America building and retrofitting prototype industrial machines for some of the largest manufacturers in the world. Justin's hobbies include performance engine building and modifying, buying, fixing and selling cars. He acquired his dream car, a 2000 Corvette in 2016. He enjoys drag racing in Epping, NH, going to the gym, riding dirt bikes and quads, and spending time with his amazing wife Ashley.

Missy Battista

Missy joined our team in 2016 as a Field Consultant. She has over 20 years of food management and operations experience. A graduate of Dean Jr. College she was the Chairman of Student Activities where she first found her passion for managing large events and food operations for the administration and student body. After working for private country clubs overseeing large food and beverage operations, she entered the area of high volume concession service where she worked for 16 years. There she spent her time overseeing all aspects of management operations, efficiency, and customer relations. Her strengths include setting up profitable operations, speed of service, and customer experience. Missy is very active in her community and excels with promotions and marketing. She has lived in Kingston, MA for over 20 years with her high school sweetheart husband and their two girls. In their spare time, Missy and her husband enjoy skiing and watching their daughters play competitive softball.

John Harrington
Business Consultant

John joined the Dixon/Turi team in 2016. He has over 26 years of experience in restaurant operations management. This includes full service, casual theme and fast casual restaurants. John, who lives in West Greenwich, Rhode Island, enjoys taking one of his two Thunderbirds to car shows and cruise nights. He also enjoys kayaking, hiking, home projects, and genealogy.
